CONSTITUTIONAL REFORM
Following the Expert Panel’s final Report to the Prime Minister on Constitutional Reform ANTaR Victoria is launching a major campaign in support of this Reform and the referendum. While this won’t be the end of ongoing work towards land justice and reconciliation (see ANTaR Vic’s official response and position here – link to website- not up yet) it is an important step, and we’d urge you as a supporter to get involved.
Our goal is to lobby every elected representative in Victoria over the coming six months to ensure that Victorian politicians – whether Federal, State or local – know that the community is behind the proposals to make this changes to the Constitution.
To do this, we need your help!
The ‘we’ in ANTaR is all of our friends and supporters - and we’re hoping that dozens of you can write at least an email or a letter to your local politician. To be effective we need to be informed by you, who you’ve contacted and through what method - essentially we will develop a tracking process so that we can identify what regions we’ve covered and, equally as important, where we need to garner more supporters to spread the message of support. We hope that many of you will also be willing to meet with your local member, this way ensuring that Constitutional Recognition will be on the forefront of our politicians’ minds.
